Speaking in Tongues

Here is another play-acting exercise. Find a quiet place. Stand up so it is possible to move around and make gestures. Close the eyes. Start talking in gibberish, any syllables--ush, uu, ah, eoeolala-- just keep it up for about ten minutes. Put some power and drama into it. Speaking in this non-language talk about fears, pain, hopes, betrayals. Notice how easy it is to talk gibberish but it is not easy to think gibberish. Talk is cheap. But it is a good release for pent-up angst.
