Mania, Mania Wherefore Art Thou Mania?

When the next "Great Idea" shows up, check out the level of accompanying excitement. Excitement has nothing to do with whether the idea is any good or not, only whether or not we are more or less likely to carry it out. It is easy to confuse excitement with "worth." Think of at least three other "Great Ideas" that generated great initial excitement that didn't live up to our expectations. How is the current idea so different from those? Is there any doubt and insecurity? Doubt and insecurity always accompanies rational thinking, Think again!
