Dirty Laundry List

Keep a list of all the rationalizations that the instinctual primal mind will buzz up for you to keep you from doing things you don't feel like doing. (I'll do it later, I'm owed two minutes because I did a four-minute chore yesterday, etc.) If the rationalizations are getting very clever, our primal mind is probably in an end run around us to seduce the higher brain systems to cooperate. And together they will run a very loose ship unless we wake up and take command. An example of a rationalization is, "But not today, I'm feeling a little tired. I'll do it tomorrow." An example of a very clever rationalization for not doing the make over exercise is, "Maybe it's not such a good idea to place undue importance on outer beauty."
