Invite the Terror to Tea

If there is some terrible problem in that is frightening and overwhelming, invite it to a mental tea. See what form the problem will take when it opens the door after ringing the bell. A monster, a child, an old man, a beautiful woman, a "thing." Have the monster come into view a little bit at a time. First look at the feet or maybe they will be shoes, then the body, then the head. Set the table with rare china and silver. Have waiters bringing delicacies. Tell the problem all your fears, your hatred, your pain. Ask the problem questions. Weep and wail at the problem. Ask the problem what it is that it wants from you. What suggestions it might have. Ask the problem how to solve it. This is a good exercise to bring out our hidden wisdom and insight.
