I Am Now

We get very caught up in who we think we are, and what we have got, and what we have lost, and what we hope for, and who did us wrong and whom we failed, and what we fear will happen. We ride life like a see-saw of winning or losing. Life may be more than what we know of it. I used to think maybe life was by the minute. Now I think that maybe life is more by the split second. Only now. Quick now. At the very least this is a comforting exercise. We can say to ourselves, I am nobody really. I don't have any future. I don't have any past. I have been nowhere. I am going nowhere. I am just now.
